Publication Ethics

"Çukurova Researches", a refereed journal, publishes research and articles that have not been published elsewhere. Uses CrossCheck application to detect non-original studies.

Ethical Rules for Authors

Authors are expected to adhere to the following rules,

  •  All authors should ensure that their work is authentic. They have to cite other researchers' ideas, languages, pictures, graphics, and tables as quotes when they include them in their work. Using an excerpt from the work of your own or the work of others, even without citing the source, causes plagiarism.
  •  Each author mentioned in the study is responsible for the content of the study. It is unacceptable that the name of the researcher is not included in the study, or the name of the researcher is unfairly given, although there is no contribution.
  • It is not possible to send the study to other journals simultaneously. Authors should not submit a study to more than one journal at a time. Regarding this, the authors should also not submit their previously published works to the journal.
  • Authors should adhere to the findings of their research. It is not possible to change the findings, to make up findings and conclusions, and to conduct research based on these. Acts such as playing, deleting, extracting, or skipping the interpretation of data that is difficult to cope with are daunting. Authors should avoid comments that offend people.

Ethical Rules for Referees

Ethical Rules for Referees

  • Referees should know that the evaluation process is confidential and should not be shared with third parties.
  • Any work submitted to the journal should be subject to impartial evaluation by the referees.
  • The referees must submit an understandable and constructive evaluation report on the work within the specified time.
  • Upon understanding that the study was plagiarism or previously published elsewhere, the referees should report the situation to the editor.

Ethical Rules for the Editorial Board and the Editor

  • During the referee evaluation process, the editor and the editorial team must adhere to the below-mentioned principles of ÇUKUROVA RESEARCHES.
  • The editor and editorial team should know that the peer-review process is confidential and should not be shared with third parties.
  • Regardless of religion, language, race, gender, nationality, seniority, or institutional relationship, the editor and editorial board should display a neutral attitude to any work submitted and deemed appropriate for publication.
  • In the face of a claim that an article sent to the journal is plagiarism, is in the stage of publication elsewhere, or has been published, the editor of the journal must investigate the situation with the editoral board.

In the case of a violation of the principles listed above, the study is rejected; if it has been published, it will be removed from the publication.

Ethics Committee Permit

Under the 8th article of the 2020 Turkish Directory Journal Evaluation Criteria, all studies carried out on people and animals through either qualitative or quantitative methods (questionnaire, interview, focus group study, observation, experiment, interview techniques) are asked to state their documents of ethics committee approval if the study to be published requires ethic committee permission.

In this respect,

  • Ethics committee approval must be documented and uploaded to the journal system.
  • The name of the committee, as well as the date and the issue number of permission, should be specified in the first page and method section of the article.
  • In the case reports (interviews, etc.), consent forms are required to be included in the article.
  • It should be acknowledged that the necessary permissions are obtained from the authors of scales, questionnaires, and documents if they are used in the study or during the study process.
  • The articles should include the statement that it complies with research and publication ethics.

Note: Retrospective ethics committee permit is not required for articles that include data utilized before 2020 or for the ones that are adapted from postgraduate/doctoral studies or are applied to the journal in the previous year, accepted but not yet published. Studies that are in this scope should state the situation.

Note: Researchers who are not affiliated with any university can obtain this document from the nearest university ethics committee.
